What is Skin Purging?
Skin purging is a term used to refer to your skin's reaction to an active ingredient that is increasing the skin cell turnover rate. As skin cell turnover speeds up, the skin starts shedding dead skin cells faster than normal.
How does purging look?
The sudden appearance of an outbreak in areas you tend to get breakouts. Usually small zits in clusters coming to a head. May take 2-8 weeks to clear up.
Is skin purging good?
Skin purging may not look or feel good, but it is a sign that the active ingredient is working as intended and speeding up your skin's recovery. Be patient you will see brighter, smoother, and glowing skin after.
Tips on how to deal with Skin purging:
1. Start Slow - once or twice per week then increase as skin can tolerate.
2. Avoid Multiple new active ingredients
3. Avoid picking at your face
4. Use Sunscreen
5. Be Patient!
